RISING PHOENIX

MUSIC AND
EMPOWERMENT

How did you get into music?

I've always been into music and grew up in a family of musicians. My mother is a composer and have always worked as an organ player in the church, my dad plays the guitar and my brother plays drums and guitar. At the age of 7 I performed solo for the first time in the church and at the age of 10 I wrote my first song, having my younger sister as my backing vocalist, I still remember that song like it was yesterday! Music has always been a way for me to feel free and to connect with myself and others, through music I have always felt I can express the true me. Ever since I was a child I've been dreaming of being an artist and being on stage! I started a Gospel Choir with my mom as a teenager that I kept going for many years. It was hard work but a lot of fun, and that time gave me so much in music that I can use today! When I became a mother, for some years I put music aside, and focused on family life. I missed music in my life for many years, but couldn't really find time or inspiration to start again. I guess I didn't know by that time how to keep my energy and how to be my own best friend. After 14 years of marriage with ups and downs in a very mentally challenging marriage, that I thought was a loving relationship, but afterwards realized it wasn't, we divorced and I was torn into pieces and so fragile that I couldn't eat or sleep for almost half a year. I had been neglecting myself for many years, I had no self love and I had totally forgotten about myself. I was a total wreck. It was so dark at a point that I couldn't feel the joy of living. I was in a very bad state of mind. The love for my children made me seek professional help, I knew I had to be there for my children , they needed their mom. So the love for my children and music saved my life! During this dark time of life, music started to come back to me, and kept my hope up. I recovered from my depression as if it was a miracle! Everyone around me was afraid I wouldn't make it alive out of the depression.

When I started to get better, I had this vision, that I am a Rising Phoenix! I've been in the deepest darkness and now I was rising from ashes into fire as a Phoenix, that was how my amazing journey into music started. And the movement of the Rising Phoenix started when I wrote my first song in English, called Rising Phoenix!

What made you want to start the company INACTION and become and entrepreneur?

I've been in the action sport scene since I was 11 and I've always loved the movement, it's a lifestyle. But being a woman in action sport wasn't always easy, it's a very man dominated world. So I had to work harder, prove my talent more, be stronger and play the game with a lot of rules set up by men. With INACTION we wanted to help and inspire girls/women into the action sport scene and we wanted to build a platform for women to interact together. We made a great impact in the action sports world, and we helped a lot of women into sponsorship, interact and make new contacts, into creating business together and most importantly, we did kick ass when it comes to organize competitions and events, we did it BIG times and got a lot of amazing feedback.

After INACTION there has come a lot of women based companies working for the benefits of building up the scene for women, I love that! I have had some companies after INACTION and I love being an entrepreneur and I see myself as a visionary. I always keep pushing myself and I only see ways of making and I never put limits to my dreams or goals, I just go get them!

My type of personality is full of energy and good vibes, and I get more energy the more things I do!

Who/what are your inspirations/influences?

Im very much inspired by my mom. She is an amazing woman! Strong, loving and never afraid to show love, express herself and being true to yourself. I'm also inspired by other strong female artists such as Oprah, Rihanna, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga, Madonna and of course the amazing Whitney Houston. They are all strong independent women, never afraid to speak their minds. And they have built up their own success and are all icons. They show the world that hard work, and strong mindset and being business smart can take you beyond your wildest dreams. A big inspiration to my music is my own experiences. I write about things that I've been through and things that people can relate to. I want to be a source of inspiration for others, and I want people to think like, if she can do it, I can do it, and just do it! I live by words. Think it. Believe it. Receive it.

What’s your biggest success or achievement so far?

That is without no doubt becoming a mother! That's my greatest success in life, my greatest gift and my greatest love!

When it comes to my career I would say my biggest success was overcoming depression and getting the vision of becoming the Rising Phoenix. I started from nothing, and I now have my own record label, an entertainment company, my own Jewelry line that I'm launching soon and I've become an artist, my biggest dream has become my life! I'm so grateful for the strength and power that I feel and I have to keep pushing myself everyday.

What do you do when you’re not working?

I live a very active life, and I love being with family and friends, having dinners and just relax. I love spending time with my children, either in the slopes snowboarding or home listening to music, playing music or making music together. I'm in love with my kids! Im also in love with music and I think about music 24/7.

I travel a lot and spend many hours on the roads, that gives me time to listen to music and write new lyrics. I love the vibe of being on the move and seeking new adventures. I guess I have a soul that enjoys being on the move and I really enjoy making new connections wherever I go! Life is a lovely journey and there are many adventures out there to be discovered!

Since I love action sports I snowboard a lot during the season, and I ride dirt bikes summertime. I'm also a snowboarding teacher in the snowboard section, helping kids into the scene, I love that! I love exercising and I'm a vegan, so living a healthy lifestyle is a part of my life. My lifestyle helps me to stay focused and in shape. Living the life I do requires keeping yourself in shape to stay focused and to keep yourself together.

How did you become a vegan?

I've been a vegetarian all my life, and I've always felt a strong connection with nature and animals, and I decided at an early age that I would never eat something that has a heart. Becoming a vegan was just a natural step for me to do what I can for the animals and nature. Being a vegan makes me feel more energetic, healthy and strong. There are so many great plant based foods out there today and I feel like the vegan movement is growing worldwide, its amazing! I want to inspire others to live a strong, healthy and independent lifestyle.

I've always been into organic food and organic health care and beauty products. You are what you eat, think and feel. It's all connected.

How do you find balance in your life?

It's all about listening to yourself and what you need. And to find time for yourself in life. No one will thank you if you over work yourself. It's very important to find time in life to recover and to just reflect. For me I always make time for being outdoors and to exercise. I also need time for myself to just recipe over life. We all have an inner voice telling us what we need, listen to that voice and be true to yourself. We need rest, good food, social life and something that inspires us!

Being close to nature is also something that helps me de-stress after a busy day. And most importantly in my life is to always make time for my children, they give me so much joy and love, I feel so amazing being chosen to be their mom!

What’s next for you/your business?

I've just released my trilogy of the Rising Phoenix, and that's so big for me! I've been working on the Trilogy for almost a year and a half now, so it feels amazing to finally share my story to the world!

I'm working on my album that I will release during 2020 and I also started to work on another album! Iv'e been shooting some music videos for my trilogy and for some other releases, and I'm excited to share my work with my fans out there! I have also entered into a new field, becoming a jewelry designer! I'm so proud and excited about my jewelry line, and I am working on the launch of my first launch, The Rising Phoenix collection! I'm also promoting my documentary about me, my life and what I've been through. My children are also a part of the documentary. I can proudly announce that my documentary, directed by my friend Jatin Vats and produced by yours truly, is now to be seen on Amazon Prime! My next project is also to write a book about myself. In the book I can go more into details about my experiences and challenges in life.

I'm also looking to expand my record label to sign other artists within 2020, that is something that I'm really excited about, extend the Rising Phoenix Music Group Family!

How do you handle criticism or setbacks?

I respect the opinion people have regarding my music, business or me as a person. I can only get back to myself thinking, they don't know me, their job is to give feedback, write articles or whatever there might be, and I don't expect everyone to love what I do, that's just part of the deal kind of. I always try to see any type of setbacks as a way of taking another direction in life and I always try to make it into something positive. Setbacks makes me work for my cause even harder and with more passion. I'm a fighter and I'm a lover of life, life is beautiful and we create our own destiny. I live by the device of Think it. Believe it. Receive it. Law of attraction.

What advice would you give to people starting out?

Don't let anyone tell you that your dream or goal is unattainable. Follow your dreams and your heart. Work with people that share your vision and that you trust. There are many out there trying to get money from you, or take advantage of you, so be careful and don't trust everyone. Hard work pays off and time is always on your side, be patient. Create your unique content and find out what you want to become, start living and thinking as if you are an artist, painter, health coach or whatever you wanna be. Thinking yourself into success is the key! Having the right mindset can take us beyond our wildest dreams and visualize your dreams and goals, set up big goals for yourself and manifest them coming your life!

What do you want to say with your music and art?

My music is all about empowerment, self love and I'm here to inspire others! I want to connect with my fans and my audience, and I want people to feel that they can relate to my message and my experiences that I sing about. I started making music so that I can help others to achieve their dreams, or overcome hard times and struggles in life, and to spread the message of love, joy and hope. I want to be an icon and mogul showing that we are stronger together and that NOTHING in this world is to big or to small to be accomplished, it's all in your head, if I can do it, you can do it. Join the movement of the Rising Phoenix. We are all connected.

Who are your dream collaborations?

I would totally be thinking that I'm living my dream at it's best to be working with Rihanna, Beyonce or Alicia Keys! I see myself together with all of them and I'm manifesting it's happening! I would also love to work with lovely Billie Eilish, Lady GaGa, Halsey, Khalid or Ed Sheeran. I actually also see myself collab with a story telling rapper, bringing that HipHop vibe to some of my tracks. I have a book at home called "HipHop raised me" that my homegirls gave to me, and it's so true! I grew up listening to HipHop and RnB! There are so many amazing artists out there that I listen to and that inspires me, I respect the hard work they put into their art and music, and I know they all do work hard!
