Los Angeles IT GIRL Of the Moment
Q: You don't look like a weirdeux:) Can you tell us the inspiration behind that name?
Haha! I consider myself an interesting character. I really don't care what people think of me, and I wanted my artist name to show that. I was toying around with spellings of "weirdo" with a friend and I typed this one and I just knew that this was it.
Q: Your songs seem to deal with a lot of heartache. At such a young age, do you think you have experienced a lot of heartache and what do you think breakups teach us about life?
I think I've had enough heartache to last a lifetime. I think breakups can teach us a lot about ourselves, and what kind of partners we are when in relationships. I know for me, I realized that I was obsessive and often times overbearing to my partner, and when that was over, I obsessed over that. And I just realized that I was exhausted and I did not want to be that person anymore.
Q: Your style is very fun and modern. Any fashion ICON inspirations?
I'm not sure. I don't really follow a lot of models. I see a shirt I like and I buy it. I like a lot of hand me downs. I don't think I've purchased clothes from anything other than secondhand store in years. I don't see the point.
Q: Tell us about your new studio project.
My new studio project is all original. My best songs to date are going to be showcased, and I think it will be a really comprehensive picture of who WEIRDEUX is. She's a character. I think I was her at one point, but I'm really not anymore.
Q; LA is a great place for an artist to get noticed. Do you think of LA as a positive aspect or is the competition to standout overwhelming?
Both. The amount of talent in LA is inspiring and also overwhelming, yes. I do think that as long as you do your OWN thing and stay true to yourself, you have a chance. I think that's why my music touches people. It's not trying to be anything that it isn't.
