EMPOWERED WOMEN IN MUSIC
Real Strength is Listening to Your Intuition...
Thank you for being part of our zine. Tell us more about your beginnings in the industry!
I started writing music at about 13 or 14 years old, I've been singing since I could talk but professionally, I started after graduating from high school. Jumped into my dad's band and we performed all over Australia and abroad until I decided to spread my wings and start my own project.
Where are you located now and where are you originally from?
I am currently living in Los Angeles, California but I am from Sydney Australia.
Goals for 2019 and beyond?
Releasing more music is always a goal, id also love to tour. To be as successful in my career, life and love as possible. And to always be happy!
What have been the specific challenges in your career so far? What have been the greatest achievements so far?
Specific challenges would be some awful men that I've had to deal with in the industry and selfdoubt. Greatest achievements have been making a lot of my dreams come true, such as having a billboard #1. And overcoming self-doubt.
Where can our readers catch up with you out there soon?
I'm always posting my next shows on my social media platforms so follow me to keep up to date!
Please answer the following: "If my fans really knew me, they would know that... "
If my fans really knew me, they would know that I am actually quite shy. I get nervous a lot for shows and performing. I like to think it's just coz it means so much to me.
Who are your top inspirations?
Sade, Britney Spears and Janet Jackson.
Having accomplished so much in your career, are there more dreams you hope to conquer?
Of course, it's like a never-ending list, there are always things that inspire desires for bigger dreams and maybe even different paths.
Any words of wisdom for your fans out there?
Stay true to yourself, believe in yourself always and listen to your intuition coz at the end of the day nobody else is wearing your skin. Your body, your mind, your soul xx

Also, since this is a women's series we would love to hear any struggles of being a woman you've faced either in or out of the industry. Also, any advice for young women musicians.
I have come across some pretty revolting men in this industry. One in particular, who has quite a status, stopped everything we were working on and everything that was promised or planned because I wouldn’t have sex with him. There are constantly stories being told about that situation which is too sad. Not being taken seriously because im a “pretty girl” has been an issue. But that’s why I always say to stay true to who you are, people will push and pull you all different ways but you have to stay strong and listen to your intuition. Make decisions that you are comfortable with not just something that you THINK will elevate you. Listen to your head not just your heart. And always believe in yourself xx
