What you need to know about Odeons Duo!

Where are you located now and where are you originally from?

ODEONS Duo is based in Finland, and we are both natives to the land of a thousand lakes.. I mean riffs.

Who has been your greatest influence?

Since we are making pop music with rock sensibilities, we have often stated that Tool and Crowded House are important influences, but we love Billie Eilish and Tame Impala just as well. The visuals and branding aspects are just as important to us as the music, so we also derive our influences from weird movies, contemporary art, diverse lifestyles, stand up comedy, science and sports. Life in general is worth every day to be influenced by!

What is your latest and greatest?

Our latest greatest musical release was Not The One that scored over 15 000 plays on Spotify in the first month. Our latest greatest visual release was the music video / short movie for Not The One, which won the best music video prize in the California International Shorts Festival, and also got other music video selections in the U.S.. This was a fun question!

Are you performing live soon?

We are in the works of creating a live experience that will open new doors to the overall ODEONS experience, and will definitely make us accessible to more people. And it will be super fun! We will tell more about that when the time is right.

What are you most looking forward to in 2022?

We are really looking forward to all the opportunities in 2022! We have just launched our musical and visual concept in 2021, and we will fine-tune it for the rest of the year for some really exciting stuff to launch in 2022. We have already written new songs that have a unique organic pop feel, that we will release along with videos that are now in the scripting phase. In 2022 we get to really show what our brand is all about, and we are looking forward to doing that with new and existing partners that share our drive and values! We also love the "business side of things", so we are really looking forward to new ways of cooperation all around the globe.

How did you deal with all the changes in the past two years that the music industry has gone through?

Of course the global situation has been unfortunate in many ways, but we have just been doing what we always do as independent creators and artists; keeping positive, helping the person next to you and focusing on the priorities. We feel that a new wave of music lovers has been emerging in the last two years, and people are really looking for independent artists that "click" and have the right sound to be a part of the "living soundtrack" of the listener. We are grateful to be one of those artists!

What would you say to your younger self if you could?

Don't shy away from kissing that girl, it will make a great song later... And don't sell your old guitar pedals, it will save a lot of work and money.

On a scale from ONE to TEN, how driven are you?

When you're not feeling motivated how do you get back on track?

Since there are two of us in the operation, there are so many exciting things going on from songwriting, to production, to music video directing, to business stuff, that we haven't felt unmotivated. We've been too busy and in the flow to lose motivation. But if that would happen, we would rent a cabin somewhere in the woods, and just sit down and stare at the wilderness. That always helps to unwind and re-focus.

How much do you believe LUCK plays a role in success?

Even though we are quite adept with numbers, we have not yet fully quantified this equation :). Our philosophy is that by staying true to yourself, by working hard towards something that empowers people and having fun, you increase the chances of positive occurrences that can also be interpreted as "luck" in the physical reality.
