Get to know the dynamic duo Piera & Micah!

Where are you located now and where are you originally from?

Piera & Michah: We both live in DTLA and love it.

Piera Klein: I’m a Southern California native with a globe-trotting background. Micah is originally from the upper west side in Manhattan and came out to Santa Monica in junior high. However, he still considers himself a New Yorker ex pat. Who has been your greatest influence?

Piera Klein: My greatest influences are visionary artists who pioneer their own paths. I’m of that same mindset and tribe. I’ve always found myself magnetized by authenticity and uniqueness.

Some of my favorite visionary artists include: Tangerine Dream, The Knife, Bowie, Daft Punk, Moby, Eno, Chopin, Zappa and the Grateful Dead….but the list could go on.

Other artists outside of the realm of music that inspire me include master of light James Turrell, the neo-futuristic architect Zaha Hadid, environmental artist Lita Albuquerque, performance artist Marina Abramovic, filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky, and artist David Hockney.

Micah Plissner: My influences stand on their own and see their path in the infinite possibilities music offers. For me, this would include John Cage, Alan Vega, Claude Debussy, Bowie, James Brown, Love, Velvet Underground, Son House/ Robert Johnson, Cocteau Twins, Einsterzende Neubatten, and Angelo Badalamenti.

What is your latest and greatest?

Piera & Micah: Right now we are listening to Omni Gardens “Moss King” and Polo & Pan “Caravelle” What are you most looking forward to this year?

Piera & Micah: First the world opening up and this global pandemic coming to an end. Personally, we are looking forward to releasing a new summer single followed by an EP later in the year. Can’t wait to share what we’ve been up to while in lock down. What would you say to your younger self if you could?

Piera Klein: Buckle up.

Micah Plissner: nothing.

On a scale from ONE to TEN, how driven are you?

Piera Klein: 1010101010101010101010101010101010…. lol

Micah Plissner: 10!

When you're not feeling motivated how do you get back on track?

Piera Klein: I take a time-out. I usually go for a drive to the beach or another secret beloved nature spot.

Micah Plissner: Diet Redbull lol. How much do you believe LUCK plays a role in success?

Piera Klein: Zero. Honestly I think if you are in sync with yourself and the times, and master your skill set, you will be effective and attract the right kind of people and opportunities in whatever field you walk in. I’m more of a believer in following your inner guide and living in “the flow”.

Micah Plissner: I’ll take as much luck as I can get, but I think feeling great and excited about what you create and perform is the summit of existence.

How can we stay up to date with you?
