Music that nourishes the Soul.
Treneti infuses a deep understanding of the importance of embodiment, self-introspection, and healing frequencies into her music. Treneti believes the rhythms and melodies of our ancestors are stored within our DNA. In her song composition process, she engages with this remembrance, bringing forth a truly unique emanation of the sacred ancient nomadic and celestial essence of humanity.
Can you tell us how you've transformed from the beginning to now as an artist?
As I grow as an Artist I am just getting better at listening, receiving and allowing. When we reject ourselves our creativity suffers when we create from our ego, i.e. seeking approval we limit ourselves. We are raised in a society that teaches us to do both those things. Reject ourselves and limit ourselves. Over the course of my career I have focused only on setting myself free from these prisons of the mind. Over the years I have invested a lot of energy in growing spiritually both intellectually and by integrating that growth into the physical world. I have learned to fully embrace myself and allow my creativity to flow untethered to the expectations of others. Now as a woman in my 30's my journey is always about refinement and growth. Everyday I become a better listener and therefore a better version of myself. And whenever an opportunity to grow exponentially comes to me through success or failure I have no problem destroying my ego again and again to journey through the unknown until I come out reborn and refined to a new level of excellence and grace in pursuit of my leaving a legacy of love for future generations to enjoy.
How did you come up with your latest project?
My latest single "Summation of Love" (available to stream everywhere) came through the observation of how most pain and negative experiences on this planet can all be traced back to someone's pursuit of egoic success. The pursuit of material resources. Money is great, assets are great. I love having them. But we must always remember we can not take any of those material things with us. And if you sacrifice your soul in the process of obtaining them, for me that means you have failed at life. The most important thing in this life is how much love we cultivate through our experiences with each other. The only thing that is eternal is the memory of the Soul. So for me, when cultivating legacy it is all about accumulating love. Memories of love with everyone around me. All we can take with us when we die and leave this material plane is the Summation of Love we have accumulated. So when I see people losing themselves chasing material wealth and tiny dreams on social media, and when I observe the cyclical nature of war and political manipulation tactics that sacrifice human health and intentionally destroy love for self gain masked as "progress" I just see a bunch of people who have forgotten their Soul and forgotten the true purpose of why we incarnate on this planet. These tarnished hearts do a lot of damage in this world and convert people to their agenda everyday. I made Summation of Love to echo the truth of why we are here and remind people that we can not take any of this material stuff with us. Obtain what you need to be comfortable for sure but remember Love must never be sacrificed to do so.
Where are you from originally?
Where do you live now?
Do you think where you live impacts how your music is made?
I think who I live with and the community I keep closest to my heart impacts the music that is made the most for me. My music is inspired by my emotional journey and the archetypal stories I see as inspiring from witnessing the journey of my loved ones. My community is global and they all inform my process. The only geographic location that I have lived in that truly informs my sound is Chicago, the foundation of my Being was created there and I grew up in the community that developed house music, juke music, ghetto house, jungle drum and bass etc. That you can hear very clearly as an influence and foundation of my rhythmic choices. I grew up in a household where we listened to music from all over the world, this global influence from very young set me up to create the genre bending diverse sound you hear in my body of work.
What was the inspiration to make music your career?
It's a very long story, if you want to hear the full download on that you should grab my origin story book and album Psalms of Saturn from Treneti.com but in short. I never planned to be a musician. My first career focus as an artist was dance. Around 27 years old, the beginning of my Saturn Return, music came to me. Through ceremony and meditation my inner guidance made it very apparent that I HAD to create music. It didn't feel optional. It was scary because I had never focused on it before and have no formal training. But I trusted the guidance anyway and that was the beginning of a potent journey of discovering the musician that lived dormant inside me. I am self-taught in all aspects of my music. I feel like I remembered a part of me that I mastered in another lifetime or something like that. It feels like I receive songs, more than writing them. My logical mind has very little to do with my composition process which is why I'll play any instrument that I resonate with. It's all about listening and allowing for me.
How do you want to shape your career?
My current magnum opus goals as an artist are to establish myself enough to be able to produce concert experiences on the level of Bjork's Cornucopia Tour. I am also invested in becoming a highly sought after composer and producer for animations, films, video games. I love to create journey's with my sound. Both of these ways of sharing those journeys resonate with me deeply.
Do you work on a tight timeline always or do you go with the flow when it comes to your music?
I am always in flow, always creating new music and releasing as I go. Just like a river the current must stay in flow, growth is infinite. Inspiration is infinite.
Is it hard to let go of the music when it is done?
No. Music is never done. Once a sound is made. it echoes infinitely onward eventually escaping the atmosphere and echoing onward infinitely through outer space. This is science. Look it up.
Do you feel an emotional attachment with your music?
I am not a fan of the word attachment. I am emotionally invested in my music, meaning I give my artistic practice my full devotion and put energy toward growing my legacy everyday. Attachment implies that you think something can be taken away from you. No one can take my creativity away from me. It is an infinite gift from God, so no need to be attached. I simply AM. So I invest in myself and my art as an act of love and nourishment because this is what I am on the planet to offer. It is all very natural when we embrace ourselves.
