Thank you for taking this interview! How has the New Year been for you so far as an artist?

This year so far has been great in regards to finishing and releasing my album. It was quite a journey trying to get it out on time. But wow the response so far has been incredible!!! I am so grateful for all the love and support from my followers and all the positive music reviews so far are amazing!!! It's really something special to be an independent artist and see that nearly two million people have streamed my album. I was recently in critical condition with covid in hospital and nearly died due to my underlying illnesses. I am so grateful to God for keeping me here and for everyone who prayed for me. I'm still not 100% but I'm hopeful I'll be back releasing a few singles from my album this year as well as working on Chapter two. So yeah, finding out how well things have been going with my album and seeing my songs also being made into lyric videos on YouTube, that all brought tears to my eyes and really touched my heart!!! I am so, so, very grateful!!!! Can you tell us how you've transformed from the beginning to now as an artist? I feel like I've grown as a woman and an artist a lot over the last few years, in the sense that I've peeled back alot of layers of myself and made myself accessible, and more relatable in my music than I would have actually thought of doing in the beginning. The first song off my album, "Handle with care" isn't something I would have written in the past, if I'm being honest, but falling in love with my fiancé and music partner Garry D. Hairston, has shown me what the true meaning of love and building trust in a relationship really is. I remember sitting there with tears in my eye's thinking about him and all he has done for me, how patient he is with me, I started to see everything from his eyes, the struggle it's been loving me who's been abused and well damaged from my past, and so at times I have unfairly taken it out on him! He said to me once, "why do you hurt me when all I do is love you?" That really hit me hard!! And made me let go of my past and learn to love and trust in him completely. So I got my pen and paper and wrote "Handle with care." I feel so blessed to have found a love now that's so honest, forgiving and pure. How did you come up with your latest project? From life experiences! Writing and recording my album "Why chapter One" started off as an idea to help others get through, but I didn't think it would actually help me from my own past traumas as much as it did. It's like I've been set free! I cried when I heard the masters! And now I feel so excited for the next chapter in my musical journey. Where are you from originally? I'm from a little small town in Berkshire, UK. Where do you live now? I live in the countryside on the outskirts of London, UK. Do you think where you live impacts how your music is made? I think that depends on the artist and what inspires them to create, everyone is different. For me, of course I've had a hard life since birth! So I have seen a lot and been through alot, so that gives me a lot to write about. But I also get inspired from a movie I've watched at times. To be honest I've also had some of my best song ideas come while I've been washing dishes! lol... Or sitting in the field with the horses. I've always had lyrics and melodies in my head. When I was in school I got in trouble all the time for writing lyrics and humming melodies! lol.... There was one time though where I was sitting eating my dinner and the save the children advert came up! I couldn't finish my meal! I had to write a song about hope to raise awareness and money for them. And I did! And it ended up doing well and being played in alot of FM stations in China and USA as well. I wrote that song in under 15 minutes. What was the inspiration to make music your career? I was born into this! I always knew from a very young age that music was what I was meant to do. For me I feel like It's not that I choose music, music chooses me! How do you want to shape your career? I'm in this for the long haul!!! So, God willing, if I'm still here, I'll still be doing music one way or another when I'm 90+ years old. And when I'm gone, I wanna be remembered and still have my music touching people's hearts for generations to come, that's my long term goal. Music is so powerful!!! If done right, it can be life-changing.

Do you work on a tight timeline always or do you go with the flow when it comes to your music? There are times when I've had to do things in a short time frame, but I hate working that way. I personally believe in quality over quantity, music is achieved with much better results when enough time has been put into it. I guess I'll say it like this, I don't want to cut corners and give my audience fast food so to speak, just because its what the music biz believes is what sells best! I'm more interested in giving them a full course meal with all the flavours!!! How did your latest title of your music come to be? My single "WHY" was the song that really helped shape the direction of my album, "Why Chapter One." Is it hard to let go of the music when it is done? No not at all!! I'm always buzzing and super excited to share my songs with the world!! And I'm always writing new songs and coming up with new melodies. I have enough songs for about 5 albums right now and many more half finished ideas I randomly come up with. I love seeing how my music touches people, that's a beautiful powerful thing!!!

Do you feel an emotional attachment with your music? Yes!!! Most definitely!!! They all have a special place in my heart!! It takes a lot of time and effort to complete the process of each completed song, and I love every second of it!!! How would you describe your music in one word to someone who hasn't listened to it yet?. Thought-provoking!! Where do they go to listen NOW? All over the Internet but I'm mostly listened to on Spotify and YouTube! What has been the best fan reaction to your music? I'd say finding lyric videos made of my most emotional songs from my album on YouTube, as well as finding my lyrics being uploaded and shared all over the Internet!! That really gets me teary eyed!! I love and appreciate each and everyone of them!!! Is there anything exciting coming up for you? Soon as I'm feeling better, me and my fiance and music partner will be working on my new single release from the album. I can't share which one yet! But we are really looking forward to releasing it soon as well as the music video after! I'll be putting updates on my socials soon as this happens!

Are you performing the song anywhere LIVE? At the moment I'm just recovering from covid and I have high inflammation around my heart! But as soon as I'm better, I will be posting updates for future live performances! I'm excited for all the plans we have in store! Give us all your socials and links so fans can link up with you!
