THE MOST WITH MOSWEN

Moswen...in Ancient Egyptian, the name means, "The Girl who Sings." Born and raised in the South of France, Moswen is an International Recording Artist, Singer, and Songwriter. Her new hit single, Seven Days, released August 2018, is currently getting good radio play, and has been selected by Spotify curators for inclusion in playlists. Moswen's lifelong musical journey began at a very young age. While in Sleepy Hollow, New York, on a walk in the park, she heard a man playing guitar and singing. With only his voice and an acoustic guitar, this simple man was bringing genuine beauty, connection, and magic, to total strangers. So moved, upon returning home, she immediately began taking piano and vocal lessons. After 3 years, she discontinued lessons, but she always secretly dreamed of being a musician. At age 24, she stunned her family by announcing that music would be her primary passion and pursuit in her life. Thus, Moswen began her true journey, and she has never looked back. Drawing influence from greats including Sarah McLachlan, The Corrs, Tori Amos, and The Cranberries, Moswen began playing with a series of talented bands, but ultimately knew she needed to lead her own project to fulfill her musical creativity. She found early creative fulfillment with an acoustic guitarist named Antony. The duo collaborated, writing original music, while also performing cover songs, but in their own unique style, providing access to venues and income. Finally coming into her own, Moswen's special musical gifts led to fantastic performances at countless incredible venues. In 2015, this success and exposure led to Moswen being selected to sing on Live TV for France has Talent! Wanting to go beyond big venues, Moswen chose to bring music to the underserved, and started her own charitable association to perform live music for those that would benefit most, in important venues including Hospitals, Retirement Homes, and Hospice Facilities. Over the years, of the huge variety of venues she has played, the most satisfying were actually the many acoustic street performances she played. The special connection and magic made by sharing music with strangers, took her full circle, back to her original magical moment as a little girl in the park. As she completes her current EP, Moswen dared to go out of her comfort zone. She released 5 new songs, each of which has a significantly different musical style, yet all still cohesive with the Moswen sound. On this E.P., Moswen is getting more musical satisfaction that ever, by bringing together talent from around the world into her upcoming release, and sees this project as a metaphor for the best of life...making dreams a reality by harnessing the best of different people from around the world, to generate happiness, beauty, and magic for all. In 2022, Moswen finally signed a record deal with the american label N Da Brickz Records. Moswen can be found on all major platforms. How has the New Year been for you so far as an artist? This New year has been great and very interesting so far ! I have had the chance to collaborate with some very talented producers and musicians based in Los Angeles .This amazing team helped me release my 2 latest songs « Where the Oceans End » and « Everybody’s Sleeping » In January,I signed a record deal with a Louisiana based Record Label called N Da Brickz Records. Can you tell us how you've transformed from the beginning to now as an artist? I used to be very shy , a real introvert and I really lacked confidence. Many years ago, when I started writing my own songs I never thought that one day I would be able to sing them on stage in front of an audience. Music helped me get through a lot , it has given me a lot of strength and it enabled me to learn about myself. How did you come up with your latest project? Actually, I have been playing music for many years and I have always tried my best to set up bands and share my adventure, but regarding my latest project i really wanted to do my own stuff i.e work on my own songs and write my own lyrics without looking for other band members approval. I would say that my latest project is very personal. Where are you from originally? I’m from France. Where do you live now? Somewhere on the Mediterranean coast (South of France). Do you think where you live impacts how your music is made? I don’t think so since the music which is played where I live is very different from the music I make. What was the inspiration to make music your career? I love literature! Writing stories and being able to add music to them has always been a dream to me... As I have already said, I’m a very shy and introverted person, so writing my own stories has probably been a way to cope with the complicated aspects of reality but also to tell people about myself and eventually express my feelings and emotions. How do you want to shape your career? I want to be able to keep my artistic freedom and make my audience happy with my music. Do you work on a tight timeline always or do you go with the flow when it comes to your music? Actually it depends. For all the songs that I released it was different. For my first song Seven Days I went with the flow and took my time. I usually work on a tight timeline when I have to record my songs abroad. How did your latest title of your music come to be? The latest song I have worked on is called «Everybody’s Sleeping» which discusses how people can sometimes act as bystanders to major issues going on around them like poverty and those suffering from isolation. By isolation, I mean the painful loneliness one can feel even if they are surrounded by many others. My song tries to point the spotlight at these bystanders and expose the fact that they are «sleeping». Is it hard to let go of the music when it is done? Sometimes it is ! But music is made to be shared with others:) Do you feel an emotional attachment to your music? I always do and this is probably the reason why I make music. Music is definitely the best way for me to express my emotions and who I am. How would you describe your music in one word to someone who hasn't listened to it yet? Emotional. Where do they go to listen NOW? My music is available on most streaming platforms: Spotify, Deezer etc ... What has been the best fan reaction to your music? I saw Some of my fans with their eyes full of tears after listening to my song Seven Days. To me it meant that I probably managed to « touch » their heart. Is there anything exciting coming up for you? I’m already working on a new EP. Are you performing the song anywhere LIVE? Yes! The last time I had a chance to perform the song live was in a very famous museum during a private showcase on the French Riviera Link to the social media : https://www.facebook.com/moswenmusic3 https://www.instagram.com/moswen.music/
