TSMFOTP is a collective of artists that showcase the eclectic music of Brian Champion and Tationa Machelle Champion. The Duo-Couple is based out of Austin,Texas but spend much time traveling and recording looking for like minded artists. They have recorded 3 albums which feature artists from St Louis, Dallas,and Columbus, Ohio. Brian Champion is a Richmond, Va native that has ties with many artists that hail from that area. Mrs.Tationa Machelle Champion is California native who discovered music at an early age singing in the church and school choir. The two together cover a broad range of genres crossing over many styles. Brian Champion on guitar or playing piano is the foundation that leads to the structure of most of the songs. Tationa Machelle Champion’s voice and range provide the duo with ability to push the boundaries of HipHop/Rap, Rock and most other genres. Their lyrics are based on personal and spiritual growth both have seen on there journey. They are currently recording out of Austin,Texas but still have a strong fan base driven by the Dallas/Ft Worth area. Thank you for taking this interview! What has 2022 been like for YOU as artists? 2022 has been great for us! We are in the age of social media, so we are able to completely benefit from it. Everything & everyone is online! Can you tell us how you've transformed from the beginning to now as an artist? As we have tried to find our sound ,one of the things that we have done well is we made sure that we listen to the music that is currently out there. By staying current we now are what we want to hear. How did you come up with your latest project? We are actually in a space where we are letting the current state of the world and how the issues impact us inspire us. Where are you from originally? Brian is Originally from Richmond, Virginia & Tationa is from San Bernardino, California. Where do you live now? We currently live in Austin,TX. Do you think where you live impacts how your music is made? No it does not impact how our music Is made. Everything we do is intentional so we may, depending on where we live, dedicate 2 or 3 songs to the area we live in. What was the inspiration to make music your career? Music is more than a career. We were doing music before we knew what a career was. Music was and will be a part of who we are. How do you want to shape your career? As much as we are artist and musicians/ We are a social band. We want who we are to shine as well. Do you work on a tight timeline always or do you go with the flow when it comes to your music? We go with the flow on the days we work and run a tight shift the days we are off. When we are at work we are at work. Unfortunately we do not have time for music. So we flow on those days,But when we are off it is 100% TSMFOTP. How did your latest title of your music come to be? Actually if we’re being honest My Wife does not like the title of Changes, but nothing snuck out & rang a bell to us. We were ready to release it, so we kept it as Changes until something changed. Which Didn’t. Is it hard to let go of the music when it is done? No. Most times when we have completed a project we are excited & ready for its release. Do you feel an emotional attachment with your music? Of Course. It’s our life story and who we are. Nothing we can ever disconnect from. How would you describe your music in one word to someone who hasn't listened to it yet? Alternative Earth Music. It’s different,Raw and real. You can undoubtedly hear it in our music.
