REAL TALK WITH RQUEES

We chat with the incredibly talented musical artist RQuees and it gets real!

Where are you located now and where are you originally from?

Right now I’m actually located in the Houston area. I’m not really from one specific place. I’ve moved around a lot, so I got many different cultures inside of me. It’s been a blessing to not have to stay in one place!

Who has been your greatest influence?

My greatest influence I would have to give to the artist, YoungBoy. I’ve followed his career since he first started. He’s only a year older than me. When I look at his situation and I see how he managed to just roll with what came, it just motivates me. Bro has 7 kids and never folded. You can have anything in this world as long as you’re willing to be yourself and go out and get it.

What is your latest and greatest?

I have my tape Shades of Quees which is available on all platforms. I would say as my first project it did great! I got a lot of calls saying it was a complete tape and that they were impressed. It just helped me as an artist get that motivation! I also have a new single called “Boom” that has dropped and I’ve been preforming it at my shows!

What are you most looking forward to in 2021?

2021 I’m looking forward to the shows I’m going be part of as well as my new tape “Life of a Soulja”. I don’t want to say too much on 2021 because I want people to stay tuned and be looking for what I got coming.

What would you say to your younger self if you could?

I would say to my younger self stay out of the drama and just focus on yourself. But even then I don’t know because maybe I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Every decision influences another decision.

On a scale from ONE to TEN, how driven are you?

A 100! My partners and my close family will tell you. I’ve been at this for the longest time. I work hard and then work some more. No matter where I am, I’ll prolly be working. I’m in love with what I do and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

How much do you believe LUCK plays a role in success?

Luck isn’t a part of success. If you put that grind in and you keep working someone’s going to notice you eventually. It might take longer but remember not everyone has access to the same resources. Best piece of advice for everyone is “CLOSED MOUTHS DON'T GET FED”!!! Don’t be afraid to ask for something, the worst answer you’re going to get is no!
