Can you tell us how you’ve transformed from the beginning to now as an artist?
My music and artistry has evolved for sure. I remember always writing songs back in elementary school and since then my music has evolved more into becoming a young woman and experiencing life as a teen. I never thought in a million years I would be here writing these songs with so much power and inspiration for young girls to look up to and feel empowered by.
How did you come up with your latest project?
My song Shy is about well being Shy. I am a very Shy person in my day to day life. So I decided to write a song about it. The funny thing is when I get comfortable with you and I get up on the stage my true self bursts onto the scene and all the Shyness fades away. Sometimes you just gotta take a look inside. It's worth it if you take some time.
Where are you from originally?
I am from Seattle, Washington.
Where do you live now?
I currently live in a small town just outside of Seattle called Maple Valley.
Do you think where you live impacts how your music is made?
I think that a lot of the experiences that I write about have a lot to do with where I live and the people that surround me in my hometown.
What was the inspiration to make music your career?
My inspiration was seeing Katy Perry on television performing at an awards show. I was amazed and sat there in awe and thought to myself. I want to do that one day. I was determined and here I am today pursuing my dream.
How do you want to shape your career?
I want to shape my career by setting goals for myself. One of many goals that I want to accomplish during my career is going on a worldwide tour. For years I have dreamed of performing at amazing venues and stadiums and traveling all around the world and sharing with the world my music and singing my heart out for millions.
Do you work on a tight timeline always or do you go with the flow when it comes to your music?
I try to keep a routine and always be thinking of ideas or creating new music. I am always experiencing something new whether it's a good or bad experience I write about, or if it's teenage drama including girl drama or boy drama I write about it.
How did your latest title of your music come to be?
I based my music on my experiences in life. My whole life I have been very Shy. I knew that one day writing a song about growing up Shy would be a very impactful subject that many can relate to.
Is it hard to let go of the music once it's done?
I think that since I am always so proud of my creations and if there is a lot of emotion attached to it then it is definitely harder to let it go because of the connection that I feel to that song and the lyrics that go along with it.
Do you feel an emotional attachment to your music?
Yes I do, the way I express my thoughts and emotions is through my music. I tend to hold thoughts and emotions in but expressing that through my music helps me cope, it's like musical therapy and I feel so much more connected to my senses.
How would you describe your music in one word to someone who hasn't listened to it yet?
I would describe my music as “Uplifting” because throughout my songs there is always a good ending, and always a breakthrough. My music represents how we can overcome challenging times in our lives and lift ourselves back up to where we are meant to be.
