Where are you located now and where are you originally from?
I am from Chicago, IL. I currently reside in Salt Lake City, Ut.
Who has been your greatest influence?
My parents who have ultimately supported me through my ups and downs of music.
The Beatles, Van Morrison, the Beach boys, the kinks, David Bowie, Lou Reed, to name a few, have then my beacon for songwriting and performance. I believe that song writing, and telling a story through the music is the most important aspect of a good song.
These legends or dynamo extraordinaries are a shining example of that.
What is your latest and greatest?
Contemporary artists, would have to be at the top, Ryan Adams, phosphorescent, Wilco, Jack White.
Are you performing LIVE soon?
I generally play four Nights out of the week. I am currently playing in Page and Flagstaff Arizona, and working on Chicago, Idaho, and California.
What are you most looking forward to in 2022?
Honest music, kindness, and peace of mind.
How did you deal with all the changes in the past two years that the music industry has gone through?
I have been fortunate through all of this. My parents helped me with private parties, people reached out to me from all over, and I played a lot of parties in backyards etc. I was able to do some shows online on social platforms as well.
There’s something to be said about finding yourself alone in a room with four walls. I was able to write, and practice, and generally be better for it.
What would you say to your younger self if you could?
I told you so!
On a scale from ONE to TEN, how driven are you?
I am never late, I always put on a performance, whether it is thousand people or 10 people. I work hard at my craft, and I practice for hours. I read and write books, and I believe that helps my mind when it comes to lyrics. My amp goes to 11!
When you’re not feeling motivated how do you get back on track?
I never force my music. I let it come as it should. Often times if I’m writing on the piano or Guitar, it all comes at once, so there are no holes in the story I am putting forward to the music. If I am not writing music, I am writing lyrics, if I am not writing lyrics, I am writing stories, if I’m not writing stories I am playing my piano, If I am not playing my piano, I am playing guitar, and writing music.
How much do you believe LUCK plays a role in success?
Luck is a very vague vernacular. Time and place can play a heavy toll on a career. I think a successful performer Must endure all aspects of music.
Someone who embraces this life with solid knuckles to roll the dice and singing from the heart isn’t worried about luck!!
