Where are you located now and where are you originally from? I’m in LA and I'm originally from Scotland. I love LA - literally I felt the magic in the air when I landed. Something about it being the hub of the creative/entertainment industry. There’s an energy here that is so unique. I do miss my family and friends though - it’s been 2 years since I’ve seen them because of the pandemic. Who has been your greatest influence? I grew up around music. My dad’s a jazz guitarist and songwriter. I grew up listening to Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday. I started performing jazz standards with my dad when I was really young. I also love soul music and Motown as well - legends such as Aretha Franklin and Marvin Gaye. I'm so inspired by these incredible vocalists and songwriters. I have my own kind of style that’s developed over the years but I take that inspiration from really honest, soulful songwriting with catchy hooks! Are you performing LIVE soon? Nothing's confirmed yet, but I’m hoping that once the record is out soon I'll start looking at booking a tour and performing the record live. You can check my social media for any live events! What would you say to your younger self if you could? I’d say trust your instincts and be gentle with yourself. I think a lot of the time we’re hard on ourselves. You have an Inner voice so you should trust that. On a scale from ONE TO TEN, how driven are you? I’d say our passion and our drive ebbs and flows a bit as humans but overall I have a very high drive and passion. I’d say 10- my drive brought me from Scotland and across the ocean!
When you’re not feeling motivated how do you get back on track? I love watching interviews or listening to podcasts. Inspiring podcasters: Impact Theory, Women of Impact, Oprah masterclasses (Super Soul Sunday). Lots of these podcasts feature people who have worked through hardship and are doing incredible, inspiring things!
