Get to Know Jordan Rys!

Hi Jordan! Thank you so much for speaking with me today!

You recently released your song 'Hold Tight'! Will you tell us how that song idea came about?

Hold Tight was a beat sent to me by David Carso. It started out simply as another songwriting opportunity for me, but we ended up liking what I wrote so much that I kept it for myself. When creating the song I wanted to paint a picture and use a lot of imagery. I did this style on the verses and had a more simple meaning on the hook. This combination together made for a wonderful song.

What was the coolest part of the creative process for that song?

The coolest part was writing the song so effortlessly. It is my favorite thing when I don’t need to try too hard or struggle to finish a record. This track truly came out naturally and easily.

How do you make sure you keep your music 'on brand' for you?

By making my brand be myself, it’s pretty easy to stay on track. I love to spread good messages and have my music point to my character. The music is simply a tool for people to look more into me. I have a lot of room to grow as a human and I hope people can watch, relate, and learn.

What does being authentic in your artistry mean to you?

Authenticity is definitely key in today’s industry. All the most successful artists write about real events that people can relate to. Sometimes I write about events that have happened to people I know instead of myself, but I always try to draw inspiration from a real, authentic place.

Who has been the biggest cheerleader in your career so far?

The biggest cheerleader in my career so far has been my girlfriend Csenge Forster. She listens to my songs even when I’m not there. She is the first to hear my tracks and she supports me more than anyone.

What advice would you give artists just starting out in the industry?

The best advice I can give to artists starting out is to establish themselves before pursuing the arts full time. It’s a tough industry and I don’t enjoy seeing starving artists struggling for their life and putting too much at risk. Music is supposed to be fun, not a struggle. Enjoy your life and music will come naturally.

Do you have any upcoming projects you want people to know about?

There are too many tracks I am working on. All I can say is stay tuned and keep an eye out on me. I have a lot of tracks that I’m songwriting for others coming out as well. I am very excited for my future in the music industry.
