Get to Know DJ Juice Z!!

Where are you located now and where are you originally from?

I am currently based in Pomona, CA and I'm from California. Who has been your greatest influence? My greatest influence has been Beyoncé due to the fact that she has one of the best work ethics and class in the music industry. No matter what, she never lets any negativity, setbacks, or mishaps stop her from delivering the best work. For example, when she performed at Coachella she had just given birth to her twins and she still stayed up all hours of the night rehearsing, producing, and directing. She was beyond exhausted and in the middle of healing from giving birth, yet she still delivered and was the best Coachella performance I've ever seen/experienced. What is your latest and greatest? My latest single that happens to be my greatest work is "Cheeks". I'm extremely proud of this project because it is that up tempo track that always gets the party turnt up! It's a feel good track and it's a song that embraces all body types. Are you performing LIVE soon? I am actually performing live today 9/25/21 in Venice at the Fire Spitters Event. The information is on my Instagram story @djjuice_z

I will be performing live again on 10/15/221 in Northridge and I will be posting that information on my Instagram as well. What are you most looking forward to in 2022? I'd say, I am looking most forward to growth and evolving as an individual and an artist. I always look back at my life before and I am proud to say that I never remained in the same place that I was in prior to the current year. Each year I aim to learn new things about myself as well as try things that challenge my norm. How did you deal with all the changes in the past two years that the music industry has gone through? Honestly, I feel that the lockdown and things in regards to COVID has been a blessing in disguise. It has been a blessing because the downtime allotted time for creativity and reflecting upon myself. It also allowed me to jot down things that I needed to work on as an artist to advance in my career and it made it possible to study tools that I was not familiar with, relating to studio equipment. In regards to concerts, performing and touring, it definitely took a toll on the music industry in that sense. Luckily, I was still able to explore different creative spaces such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, etc. to create content that promoted my music. What would you say to your younger self if you could? If I were able to speak to my younger self, I'd say, "Never live for the approval of others or you will spend your whole life unhappy." I was always the type to try to please or accommodate people at the expense of my own comfort. I found myself empty because I had given out all of my fuel and ran out of fuel to start my own engine. It's basically an analogy that I spread myself so thin that I was not able to sustain myself. On a scale from ONE to TEN, how driven are you? I would say I am at 20, because I don't stop and never will stop. Success does not come from inconsistency, it comes from persistence and consistency. When you're not feeling motivated how do you get back on track? When I am not feeling motivated I meditate usually to get re-centered and I listen to some 90's R&B and early 2000's favorites of mine. I also write down in my journal things that I enjoy about being an artist and remind myself of the reason I am pursuing a career as an artist/entertainer. I love the art of expressing myself in a rhythmic way! How much do you believe LUCK plays a role in success? I would say that the universe works in mysterious ways in regards to an individual's success. Meaning, when it is your time to shine, it's your time to shine. I think that everyone that is consistent in their craft will eventually experience success. In conclusion, I don't necessarily believe that luck plays a role in success. There are some people that are born into families that are well off or have connections to people in the industry, which provides more access and opportunities. As far as social media, I would say there is definitely luck involved as far as those content creators that hit the algorithm at the right time and happen to go viral overnight, etc. How can we stay up to date with you?
