Where are you located now and where are you originally from?
I'm originally from Topeka Kansas, I lived in East Tennessee for a while before moving to Kansas City where I call home.
Who has been your greatest influence?
This might be the hardest question for me to answer. If I had to narrow it down to one person I would have to say Ed Kowalczyk from the band LIVE, but there are so many others that have helped to shape me.
What is your latest and greatest?
My latest and greatest is my new single "Good To You" featuring Nashville powerhouse singer Kim Keyes. It is available only through my website as a free download.
Are you performing LIVE soon?
I have several LIVE shows coming up. September 9th I am playing at Kane Family Farm in Tonganoxie Kansas and I'm playing the Plaza Arts Fair in Kansas CIty on September 26th. I'm also excited about the music video of my first 2021 release "Home To Kansas City" being featured at Crossroads Music Fest in Kansas City September 11th and 12th.
What are you most looking forward to in 2022?
The thing I am most looking forward to in 2022 is sharing my new EP with as many people as possible and writing new songs. Also, playing live and building relationships with new communities and artist
How did you deal with all the changes in the past two years that the music industry has gone through?
The past two years have been pivotal for me. I drew in deep and worked hard to grow personally and professionally. We can't see what's ahead, we can barely see what's behind us. One thing I know is that we are expansive by nature and music that stirs our soul is elemental in the things that last. I say, bring it on!
What would you say to your younger self if you could?
There are so many things I'd say to my younger self LOL! Honestly I'd say "spend less time thinking about yourself and more time seeing how you can be of help to others"
On a scale from ONE to TEN, how driven are you?
I'd like to think 10, but I always feel like I can be doing more.
When you're not feeling motivated how do you get back on track?
There are several things I do pretty regularly to stay motivated. Authors I read, artists I listen too, play The WestWing in the background. I clean my apartment, take a shower and put on my favorite jeans and t-shirt while I watch The History of the Eagles.
How much do you believe LUCK plays a role in success?
LOL! A whole hell of a lot less than people think. We hear stories about being in the right place at the right time, and think its about luck. It's really about working your ass off to be in the right place at the right time and ready.
How can we stay up to date with you?
My website https://thedavidluther.com Instagram and Facebook are great ways to stay up to date on Live Shows and new music.
