New Jersey native singer songwriter, JaRich, released his debut album Reflections on July 3rd, 2020.
JaRich has been singing since the age of 5, coming from a large family of preachers, singers and musicians! Some of his biggest musical influences are his paternal grandmother, Barbara Ritchwood Hill, Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, Tina Turner and Luther Vandross. JaRich has been wowing audiences ever since with his strong gospel inspired vocals along with his charismatic stage presence. His goal is to tell stories through music that stand the test of time and speak to the core of man!
JaRich wrote Reflections in honor of his late Grandmother, Frances Washington, who passed away in March of 2020 due to the COVID pandemic. “I just remembered all she faced in her life and how she persevered irregardless. She overcame so much and rarely shared her story so I do what I do for both of us.”
Reflections is a mixture of R&B, Pop, Funk and Gospel. The album begins with the song “Blamin’ me” which is a really cool track! JaRich’s beautiful voice is put on display front and center! The music is awesome too, with an intense beat driving the song forward while cool background vocals and guitar riffs interweaving throughout the song. “Only You” is another one of my favorite tracks on this album. It’s so upbeat and happy vibes! It has a great chorus, with a wonderful message and awesome music to pair with the lyrics. Reflections is a very unique album, it doesn’t have one central genre of music that it confides to. Each track has its own vibe, its own style and its own sound which I really like. You can definitely hear JaRich’s gospel influences and inspirations in his singing which is sublime all throughout the record, he is extremely talented! “His Eye Is on the Sparrow” is a true testament to JaRich’s singing abilities and incredible vocal range!
Reflections is meant to share a life lesson; to keep following your dreams despite the many obstacles you may face throughout your journey. “I’ve always sung and have been singing since the age of five but the music became more meaningful, and the voice more powerful, after being tested with a few storms that I thought would end me. In reality, it pushed me and sustained me!”
