We can't wait to see what 2021 has in store for you, Gareth!!
Hi Gareth! Thanks for being here!
How does your music affect the world?
I want my music to affect the world by giving people support, inspiration, comfort, strength, and courage to persevere through the tough times in life and help everyone live their lives with more happiness or contentment. I want my music to help more men and women feel empowered to talk about their feelings and struggles in life. Many men are taught from a young age or through experience that if you cry or show vulnerability, you are weak. It is time to break this down. Recently I had a follower reach out saying my first release (Stepping Stone), uplifted them and was very empowering regarding an experience they had.
Who has been your biggest cheerleader as an artist?
My friends and family and on a professional level Justine Blazer. She recognized a talent within me and has actively encouraged me to push the boundaries of my voice. Her encouragement has been instrumental in giving me the confidence to put my thoughts and experiences into song. A big step for me because I have been pretty private about a lot of it in the past.
Tell us about your latest release(s)!
"2020 Of You": This song is about the unfortunate demises of relationships and the emotional aftermath. 2020 seemed to be an extra rough year for relationships or the straw that broke the camel’s back. Pulling from personal and external sources, I wanted to give listeners support for what they may have gone through this year.
"Stop the World": The concept for this song was pulling from my daily life dealing with ADHD, sometimes pretty severe anxiety, and feeling like the world is moving too fast for life as you try to gain control of your existence.
What are you most looking forward to in 2021?
I am looking forward to life. More opportunities to hopefully produce music and go racing. If the US can get COVID under control, I would look forward to the slow re-emergence of a safe, more active social life.
How do you find peace in an often chaotic world?
The love of friends and family. Getting more comfortable calling them when you are having a rough day or need to talk about something. Knowing that for the time being at least, I have a roof over my head and a comfortable bed to sleep in.
What does “making it” mean to you?
When the fruits of my labor come to fruition and I have garnished respect from my peers. One or a combination of successful careers where I can make enough money to live comfortably and do what I love, and give back to the community in monetary and non-monetary ways.
What have been some of your greatest achievements as an artist?
Being able to develop my singing talent in a relatively short period of time exposing these amazing opportunities to work with Justine and others in the music industry.
Where can readers go to learn more about your projects?
They can visit my social media platforms for now and I hope to eventually have a website with a biography.
Thank you for your time!
