Dyd is a french singer songwriter who creates a soft and powerful Pop. She released her first EP, called 11:11 in december 2021 where she sings our doubts and fears without fully succumbing to them : when doubt reassures, vulnerability asserts and loneliness unites.
It’s on electro-acoustic sounds with urban touch and sometimes oriental vibes that she delicately poses these deep melodies and contrary sensations that go so well together.
Thank you for taking this interview! How has the New Year been for you so far as an artist?
Thanks for asking me! Last year was really awesome and intense. I released my first songs and EP as Dyd. Working on every part of the project (compositions, visuals, diffusion) was really enjoyable and I'm really pleased that it is well received.
Now I just want to release as many songs as I can create ! As well, I'm working on releasing at least 2 songs this year.
Can you tell us how you've transformed from the beginning to now as an artist?
I was always singing and then playing piano, mainly for accompaniment. I used to sing covers, sang on stage with a musical collectif for fun. Music has always been a part of my life but I began to create my own songs at the end of 2020. I think it’s always been within me but I really felt ready to express myself as an artist at that moment, it was obvious and it’s one of the best decisions I made. Now I know my signature and what I want to project with my music. I already have a lot of ideas and plans for the future to come !
How did you come up with your latest project?
My last and first project is an EP of 4 songs called 11:11. It’s French pop songs with an urban touch that I wrote and composed, then produced in collaboration with Herdemons, a Parisian duo of producers. This project was fully created with heart and talks about finding power in our vulnerable moments.

From Lille, north of France
Where do you live now?
I just moved to Paris 3 months ago!
Do you think where you live impacts how your music is made?
Yes that’s possible ! I don’t necessarily think about it but the environment and what we are listening to surely influences our creations. Anyway, I feel a certain mixture in songs I create influenced by my French and Lebanese origins in my writing and the Anglo saxon touch in my production.
What was the inspiration to make music your career?
Simply by the feeling of being made for it ! Feeling like you belong when you create, sing, being on stage and seeing people who listen to you feeling great.
How do you want to shape your career?
First of all, always listen to my heart when it comes to creating and making decisions about my music.
Then, continue to compose and release songs, work with creative people, touch more people and fully live from my music.
For the future, I also like the idea of proposing some of my songs for others.
Do you work on a tight timeline always or do you go with the flow when it comes to your music?
I will say both ! I like to schedule a timeline specially for releases but I also work a lot with instinct so if something was not planned but interesting, i will probably do it.
How did your latest title of your music come to be?
The last title I released was “Ensemble” from my EP, which means Together. It’s a federative song inspired by this universal feeling of loneliness and how we can overcome it by simply being united.
Is it hard to let go of the music when it is done?
Not really, as songs only live through sharing, I feel really excited when it’s time for the song to be released and see how it spreads !
Do you feel an emotional attachment to your music?
Yes of course ! I create music with feelings so it can’t be otherwise. And so do I hope that people feel it and get emotional as well
How would you describe your music in one word to someone who hasn't listened to it yet?
Soft - powerful

What has been the best fan reaction to your music?
One day, a guy listened to my music and simply sent me (translated from French) : “Thank you for your music, that’s exactly what I needed”.
Knowing that my music touches and makes someone feel good makes me truly happy.
Is there anything exciting coming up for you?
I plan to release at least 2 singles this year. Being present on Tik Tok and doing collaborations.

For the moment I don’t have upcoming dates but it won’t be long ;)
