How did you get started in the industry?

I moved to Nashville about 2.5 years ago to pursue music as a career. I wanted to become a better songwriter so I knew I had to move to be surrounded by the best. I started networking and meeting a bunch of other creatives and artists and eventually built my network of friends and players to be where I am today. It’s a 24/7 job and you really have to want it to do this.

What's your biggest motivation?

My supporters. I literally could not do this thing without them, and to be able to relate to a crowd through my songs is the most rewarding thing. People seek out music for an escape or even therapy. When I see people in the audience dancing, singing the words to my songs and then meeting them afterward finding out how much they enjoyed my songs and messages- thats what keeps me going.

Who are your biggest inspirations?

Grace Potter, Susan Tedeschi, Dorothy, ZZ Ward, The Black Keys, Etta James, Amy Winehouse, Fleetwood Mac, Bonnie Raitt.

What is your greatest accomplishment yet?

Making the move to do this! It was hard and scary to do, but if I were to have let fear win, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

Who are your biggest supporters?

Definitely my family. My dad is prolly my number 1 fan- he always wears my t-shirts and watches my YouTube channel at night LOL!

What do you love most about your work?

The unique sound we are creating. I have so many different influences behind my music and I really wanted to create a NEW sound that is also familiar. I don’t want to do something that has already been done, right? The songs that I am putting out all have a “sound” to them yet they are all a little different. What ties it all together is the voice, which I hope is what everyone else hears too.

What is something you have struggled with in your career?

Letting others help me. I’ve done it all myself for the most part leading up to this point in my career. I enjoy being the leader and in charge of details but there’s a lot that I don’t know on the business side of things- so when I partnered with Red 13 Studios as management it was a struggle for me to not always know all the little details of everything that they were doing for me. The biggest thing I learned is this: You can’t do it all yourself. You need a team. And I am incredibly grateful to have one in my corner who believes in me.

What are you looking forward to this year?

Touring!! A lot. I’ve had some amazing opening opportunities so far and I can’t wait to see what else I get into this year. I want to be full time on the road and get the exposure needed to really take my career to the next level. In the meantime, I will be releasing more music this year and I can’t wait!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Playing in arenas. Go big or go home.
