Diamond Dixie

2020 Country Takeover

This Country Duo is Stealing Your Heart... One Hot New Hit at a time!

Thank you for being part of our zine.  Tell us more about your beginnings in the industry!

Our dad actually got us started with guitar when we were around the ages of 7 and 9. He played guitar during his high school days and taught us. I (Gabriela) signed up for my school’s talent show when I was about 10 years old, not having any musical experience, and made it passed the audition and on to the actual show where me and my dad played “Ready, Set, Don’t Go” by Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus. I remember getting of stage and thinking that this is what I want to do when I grow up. Naturally as a younger sister, Bianca, just tagged along.

Where are you located now and where are you originally from?

We are originally from Orlando, Florida where we still live and play the majority of our shows. We also make frequent trips to Nashville to write and record music.

Goals for 2020 and beyond?

2019 was a good year for us in terms of new music. We released 5 new songs and 2 music videos. This year we want to release even more music that we are passionate about! We also want to travel to more places and play more shows since we have so many amazing fans throughout the U.S.

What have been the specific challenges in your career so far?  What have been the greatest achievements so far?

Other than writer's block, which every songwriter experiences from time to time, a challenge that we’ve faced especially when we were first starting out was people telling us that our dream to be in the music industry was “too big”. We wrote a song called “Limitless” which describes our journey and our dream. This song really connected with our audience and quickly became a fan-favorite because of the inspirational message that we wrote about.

Some of our most greatest achievements so far has been playing venues such as the House of Blues, Hard Rock and CMA Fest but nothing has been more rewarding than playing a show and seeing our fans in the audience sing our songs back to us.

Where can our readers catch up with you out there soon?

We're all over social media (Instagram, Facebook and Twitter) @DiamondDixieLLC. We’re always posting about our crazy day-to-day adventures and there’s never a dull moment.

Please answer the following:  "If our fans really knew us, they would know that… “

Well to be completely honest, if our fans really knew us, they would know that our obsession with coffee comes before just about anything else in the day haha!

Who are your top inspirations?

Taylor Swift really inspired us to pursue music when we were younger and as big Miranda Lambert fans, we’ve noticed she has been a huge inspiration in our music and our sound…and of course our parents have always been our biggest inspirations in everything we do!

Having accomplished so much in your career, are there more dreams you hope to conquer?

Of course! We were always taught to dream big and although we’ve accomplished a lot so far, we have so much more we want to accomplish, and every day we strive to get one step closer to accomplishing those things.

Any words of wisdom for your fans out there?

There will always be people who will try and stop you from achieving your goals, but if you're passionate about your dream, go after it with all your heart no matter what other people say.
