A POETIC LIFE AND JOURNEY, NASHVILLE
Manifestation and the POWER of Music
How did you get started in the industry?
Basically, it started with writing poetry and lyrics for fun. Pops always had me listening to different
music and stuff growing up, so I was always inspired by music. I was always dabbling in it and rapping
with friends and thinking about it. I knew I was on to something when my high school English teacher
asked me to enter the school poetry contest. I basically just wrote a standard verse, it wasn’t even really
poetry, but I won! It was in the school paper and all that. Eventually I told my pops I wanted to
do music and write songs, he said we’ll take you to a studio and see what you got and if this is something
that’s realistically possible. 8 years late, here I am thriving in my element and making some noise.
I went from thinking I could do this and hoping, to knowing this is unquestionably my path.
What is something you're looking forward to this month? This year?
Just releasing more music and growing my fan base and my brand. Introducing more people to
who I am and what I’m about. 2020 is already shaping up to be a major year for me and I’m gonna
continue that momentum all year long!
Who are your biggest inspirations?
Just really creatives in general, no matter if it’s in the music space or not. I love art and dance and fashion
and acting and just everything that is in the spectrum of art. I’m inspired by it all and I indulge as much
as possible to get my own creative juices flowing.
What is your greatest accomplishment yet?
My biggest would be just making it to the position I’m in now with little backing and support and
partnerships. It’s really just been me and my manager making everything happen and learning and
gaining knowledge as we go. We’ve come a long way from starting at literally nothing to where we are
today and it continues to get better and better the further we go.
Who are your biggest supporters?
My manager and my family and my fans. It’s a collective effort and a lot of work to have any success in
this business, so I appreciate anyone who lends an ear to my music and supports in any way.
What do you love most about your work?
I love the creation process and writing and coming up with melodies and the whole 9. There is no better
high to me than writing and watching an idea and song come to life and then going to the studio with
that idea manifesting itself and becoming complete. Then making its way into people’s ears and people
giving feedback and enjoying it. There is literally nothing better to me.
What is something you have struggled with in your career?
Honestly, finding stand up people to work with and finding people to add to my team who are hungry
and ready to work and people who truly believe in what I’m doing. This business is filled with BS and
wading through all of that to find the truth is difficult. But, this year we have connected with some really
good people and are finally starting to build that team and starting to see everyone’s hard work
manifest into something special.
What advice would you give to young creatives looking to do what you're doing?
Be sure this is something you truly want to do because this business is not for the faint of heart. You will
hit pitfalls, deal with unprofessional people, get scammed, lied to and everything else in between. But if
it really is your dream and love then don’t lose focus and don’t give up.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Honestly, I see myself being blessed and continuing to hone my craft and doing this music thing full
time. I have a bunch of goals and things that I want to accomplish and I believe in the power of
manifestation so I think about it and let it run through my mind daily and let it motivate me.
